Gabriel Maia is a jazz guitarist from São Paulo, Brazil. He is currently studying in the Global Jazz Master’s Program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Gabriel is a recipient of the Ramón Stagnaro Memorial Scholarship and is an active member of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.

Garbiel’s passion for guitar started at a young age. Throughout high school he became an active member of the rich music scene in his hometown of São Paulo, participating in multiple projects with many excellent and creative musicians. All projects can be found on the music page, linked here.

After being accepted to Berklee College of Music, Gabriel’s career reached new heights and he encountered many likeminded and equally creative individuals. Through Berklee, Gabriel has been able to perform with many talented musicians and industry professionals, among them multiple GRAMMY® winners as well.

Through his work at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, Gabriel brings jazz closer to the Boston community and - together with his fellow members - aims to raise awareness and education of this culturally rich and relevant genre of music.

His studies in the Global Jazz Master’s program prove that he is a true master of his craft, and has garnered him recognition among the Berklee community and in the industry as a whole.
